The Civil Aviation Authority Training Institute (CAATI) was established in 1990 in response to a growing demand for qualified personnel to manage the Air Traffic Control Units in Jamaica.

Since then the Institute has provided training for 100% of the air traffic control staff at the Norman Manley, Sangster and Tinson Pen Control Towers, the Kingston Air Traffic Control Centre and the Islandís Aeronautical Information Service Units. CAATI is now in the process of establishing itself as a leader in the provision of Air Traffic Control training for the Caribbean Region by offering high quality cost effective ATC Training programmes.

CAATI is located at the Jamaica Civil Aviation Authorityís Headquarters at 4 Winchester Road, Kingston 10 and is housed within a spacious two-story building with state-of-the-art training equipment and facilities.

CAATI Mission

The mission of the CAA Training Institute is to provide the Civil Aviation Industry within the Caribbean Region with high quality cost-effective ATC training that produces graduates trained to the highest level of competence and professionalism in order to ensure that the standard of service provided within the region is among the highest in the world.
