Alcohol or Drug Passengers |
Regulatory RequirementsAirlines, under international and local laws, may prevent a person from boarding an aircraft when there are reasonable grounds to believe that the person's faculties may be impaired by alcohol or a drug. Such persons may present a hazard to the aircraft or pose a threat of violence or abuse to other passengers and crew members. |
Passengers must not consume their own alcohol while on the aircraft. On flights, passengers are only allowed to drink liquor provided by the airline. |
Cabin crew members must not serve any intoxicating liquor to a passenger where there are reasonable grounds to believe that the person's faculties are impaired by alcohol or a drug. |
Airlines may allow a person whose faculties are impaired by a drug to board an aircraft when the drug has been medically administered. The person has to be under the supervision of an attendant on the flight. |
