Carry-on Baggage
Baggage Policies
- Airline Responsibility for the Provision of Information: Airlines must inform passengers about the size, amount, and weight limits of checked and carry-on baggage. This information is usually available on the ticket or through the airline’s reservations department.
- Carry-on Baggage: This category includes items like tote bags, garment bags, laptops, handbags, duty-free items, baby bags, cameras, and more.
- Stowage Areas: Stowage are designated spaces in the aircraft for safely storing carry-on baggage and personal items during the flight. They include:
- Under the Seat: Heavier items should be placed under the seat in front of you.
- Overhead Compartments: For smaller, lighter items.
- Coatroom: A weight limit applies for certain aircraft.
Check-in Procedures
When checking in, passengers shall present their checked and carry-on baggage to the check-in agent. This will enable the agent to confirm that the items are of an acceptable size and weight for carriage in the aircraft.
Checked and carry-on baggage information is usually provided either on the passenger ticket, or as a brochure included with the passenger ticket. Before traveling, passengers can obtain additional information from the airline’s Reservations Department.
