Processing Timelines

Category	Application for:	Required Submission Time
Medium to Long-Term Operations	Air Service Licence or Permit to operate services in excess of thirty (30) days	At least eight (8) weeks in advance of the series of flights.
Short-term Operations	Air Service Licence or Permit to operate services for less than thirty (30) days	At least seven (7) days in advance of the flight or series of flights.
New Routes	Schedule changes, involving new routes, to be operated in excess of thirty (30) days	At least eight (8) weeks in advance of the series of flights
Changes to Operating Days &/or Times	Schedule changes, involving days of operation and/or arrival and departure times	JCAA to be advised at least three (3) days in advance of the schedule changes.
Extra section flights	The addition of flights to an air operator’s regular scheduled service to accommodate increased demand on a particular route or date.	At least seven (7) days in advance of the flight or series of flights
Route Discontinuation	Temporary or permanent discontinuation of services on any route	JCAA to be notified immediately.

Service Application Type	Guaranteed Processing Times for weekday and weekend applications, based on time of receipt.
Ad hoc 1-day Operations	Monday – Friday	Processing Times
	For applications received between 8:30 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.	3 hours
	For applications received after 2:00 p.m.	Next day by 11:30 a.m.
Ad hoc 1-day Operations	Weekends (Saturday – Sunday) & Public Holidays	Processing Times
	For applications received between 8:30 a.m. & 2:00 p.m.	6 hours
	For applications received after 2:00 p.m.	Next day by 11:30 a.m.
